Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Announced: Snapdragon 821, 6GB RAM, IMX318, 4070 mAh and Xiaomi MIX concept revealed


Xiaomi just announced their new flagships – the Mi Note 2 in China. Specs:

  • Snapdragon 821 processor (2.35GHz)
  • LPDDR4, 4GB or 6GB of RAM
  • 22,5MP (IMX 318) Sony front Camera
  • Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor (video explanation)
  • 64GB or 128GB of Storage (UFS 2.0)
  • 5.7″ HD (1920 x 1080) OLED Flexible Screen
  • Dual-Sim (nano)
  • 4070 mAh Battery
  • USB C with Quick Charging 3.0
  • NFC (reading, writing, virtualization)
  • 8MP Front-facing autofocus camera
  • Supported LTE bandsAll of them (37 bands, same as iPhone 7 and 3xCA, 4G+ up to 600Mbps)
  • MIUI 8 (built on top of Android 6.0)
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Dual-curve display similar to the one on the S7 Edge
  • Available on November 4 in China


2799 RMB ($413) for 4GB + 64GB
3299 RMB ($489) for 6GB + 128GB (local bands) and
3499 RMB ($516) for 6GB + 128GB (global bands) model.


Should this phone come to the west, we could easily assume that it would support Daydream as well. The question is – will it be available globally soon enough?

In addition to the Note 2, Xiaomi announced their own Daydream-like Mi VR headset in China with very similar controller and experience in general with additional head-strap that’s resembling PSVR headset. The whole thing is only $30, compatible with Mi5s, Mi5s Plus, Note 2, and Mi5.


They also showed their concept phone: Xiaomi MIX (Full Specs)

  • 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, Snapdragon 821, very similar specs to the Note 2, and also 4400 mAh battery
  • Full ceramic body with almost no bezels
  • Bottom right front facing camera
  • A ton of innovations regarding the port and sensor relocation
  • Phone costs a lot more right now due to its components, materials, and tech
  • MIX “Pro” 18K (real) gold edition as well available (camera ring and fingerprint sensor are 18K) with 6GB of RAM and 256GB Capacity.
