Official announcement here.
What do we personally want from the Mi Max 2? Bigger battery (yes, even 6000mAh would not be too crazy), better screen, and full metal body. That’s all! Let’s see if they give us this.
Of course, it will be only available in China for a while first. Then you may see it in India and the rest of the world – slowly.
Amazing video as always from JerryRigEverything.
Mi6 is a massive build improvement compared to the Mi5 and king of durable cheap flagship phones. Hooray for a well built Xiaomi flagship!
DO NOT dunk that phone into water otherwise this is what happens.
Great review by TechTablets. Shame about the crashes and beta-level MIUI though. Also, how on earth they can still have these framerate issues with the front facing camera in low light situations? These all can be fixed with software, so let’s hope that MIUI 9 is going to come to all phones that have these issues soon, including the Mi5S.
According to Android Central, the reason for Xiaomi to remove 3.5mm is to increase battery capacity for Mi6 and make it better at splash resistance. Read the full article right here.
This is not that much of a deal breaker due to the fact that Mi6 features USB-C which is a lot more widely used compared to iPhone 7 that is featuring its own proprietary lightning connection, making your dongle life even worse. For now.
Goes to show yet again that all Xiaomi needs is better sofware to handle such a great hardware. Same thing happened with Mi5s, which has exact same sensor as Google Pixel.
Oh, and that unacceptable front camera performance in low light is still there. Look at the end of the video. This exact same thing happened on the Mi5s as well.
